The T-90, like the T-72 was designed with European terrain in mainly, not NAmerican or Middle-East. There are a lot of swampy areas and a lot of rivers. Imagine what a pontoon u have to build for a 70t tank like M1A2. Not to mention ground pressure or towing such a veheicle whenit gets boged down. That is why T-90 doesent exceed 50t.

МАЗ-7922 clear weight without additional devices and ammunition is over 40 tonns
and M829A2 was "probably" penetrate T-72 from 500 m while M829A3 penetrate it from 500 with 70% probability (with 0 degree to armor)
and T-90 uses Relict armor not Kontak-5
T-90 used Kontakt 5 only until 1993 when it was T-72BU

And kontak-5 is still employed on T-90.Aditionally the M829A3 was an imidiate response,The new A3 is even more powerfull.
The 47,200 is mas of both the rocket and the carrier truck.
