Reagan's polices helped to put pressure on the powers that be to hold that nov. 9 press conference.
It certainly was not 100% Reagan. But he had a role in it. While its size might be debateable.

The next person suggesting it was all done by Reagan gets beaten up with a history book.
It wasn't Wind of Change that tore down the wall, it wasn't Reagans speech, and it surely wasn't David Hasselhoff.
There were mass demonstrations, increase of Republikflucht, and finally that press conference on Nov. 9 where it was said that citizens of East Germany could cross the border from that day on [while it was actually supposed to be Nov. 10]. You really think the credit belongs to Reagan? Geeeez...

"Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!"
On June 12, 1987, United States President Ronald Reagan spoke the people of West Berlin at the base of the Brandenburg Gate at the Berlin wall. Due to the amplification system being used, President Regans words could also be heard on the Eastern (Communist-controlled) side of the wall. On Nov. 9-11, 1989, the people of East Berlin freed by Regans "COLD WAR" forign polices tore down that wall.
