Yep, but that is what you can also say for almost any other guitar player. Vai, Malmsteen, EVH, Randy Rhoads, Joe Satriani, Santana, etc... They all were influence by Hendrix a lot! By my opinion Stevie is by far the 2nd best electric guitar player of all time and the closest ever to Hendrix's level. Stevie like Hendrix was trying to reach to people and to their hearts. He had an amazing feeling, passion, speed, guitar tehnique, tone, attack. First place and the best is of course Jimi Hendrix.

Ugh... I'm tired of seeing all these "better than Jimi" comments... They're not even from the same time period, first of all, and Jimi passed on before he got the chance to perfect his sound. Jimi revolutionized the electric guitar, made it more than just a amplified acoustic. He played with a lot of emotion and broke all the rules, like a modern day Mozart. And Stevie was deeply touched and influenced by that. Stevie would not be the Stevie we know today if it weren't for Hendrix.
