Robert Johnson was the greatest protest song writer of them all.He could not write it like it was because of the times he lived in, so instead of saying white man, he talked about Hellhounds.

Clarksdale, MS crossroads of old hwys 61 and 49 is where Johnson supposedly sold his soul to the Devil.

Which crossroads? In missisipi, right? Or does it even matter, it just can be any old crossroads?

Accurist94 hardly anyone knows him anymore?
Ya gotta be kiddin. 122,000 hits on this wee flick. But true that this kind of hard-hittin hurtin blues is not for everyone, and I don't think the great blues-man are as well know by younger people as they are by people my age.
But search those who have recorded his (what do we have - 24? songs) ... quite a list.

BuckshotLaFunke (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Somehow he reminds me of the character 'T-bag' in the TV series 'Prison Blues'.
