My "New and Improved" SEI/FEI M14-DC-Silencer has arrived! The new locking collar has 30 threads per inch instead of 28. This upgrade is a result of a military request. This can will fit and function on my DC Vortex equipped 7.62x39 KM and my 5.56x45 AR.

The sub sonic rounds I fired were 180 grain, not 147 and a sound suppressor offers many, many combat advantages.

so what your saying is that the suppresor decreases the velocity of the bullet? which compromises lethality by a substanial amount just for the element of suprise?

DudishDanny you not stupid, this fucker talking in the video is. I pray hes not military or his C.O. should have his balls in a jar. Also not to be an ass to you or anyone else calling it a silencer, but look up the definition of the word silence. The device quiets the sound and deadens the muzzel flash ergo suppressor.

The supersonic rounds would have been much louder without the suppressor. While not silent, it still helps, and it reduces/elimates the need for ear protection-which may not be practical to wear in combat. Some military issed rifles now come with suppressor attachments as standard. While the advantages for rifles may be limited, submachine rounds are often fired below or a bit above the speed of sound, so there would be no (in the case of .45) or only a little (in the case of 9mm) power lost.
