What you are suggesting is that big business has no control over out education system, which is patently false. They not only have some control over public education institution via the same channels that they have to the government, which produces things capitalists need for greater efficieny - standardization. To private institution and researchers, they provide grants and donations. We live in the business-run state in which even education is under the control of the rich.

yes...now we can get on bombing afganistan and pakistan instead of iraq...there will be little change with obama in terms of aggressive foreign policy that motivated 9/11...(review obama's berlin speech for bush-like "us vs. them" language and his plans to move troops from iraq to afganistan/pakistan.)
on the other hand, maybe with obama we can start to get over this racism which (aside from our attempts to dominate the world by force) is the US's most embarrassing problem.

Do you understand that if you are in mainstream media entertainment that you have the most powerful people in the capitalist world behind you? That is, large businesses. You live in the business-run state and astronauts and congressmen are slaves to them. The rich are the real "big guys" - and they are tyrannical.
