i beat the elite four with 3 pokemon:
empoleon lvl 65
moves:
drill peck
grass knot
ice beam
surf
dialga lvl 49
moves:
metal claw
dragon claw
ancient power
roar of time
medicham lvl 45
moves:brick break psychic shadow ball strength
and i beat the game in 14 hours

duh, You can catch new pokemon, catch legendaries, level up your pokemon, and go to new places.
