This is one of the King's last concerts. It is rare footage from a doc called "This is Elvis". Subsequent copies I've viewed have had these sections cut out. A small part has been posted on the internet with disrespectful tags such as "Elvis Drunk". This footage made me an Elvis fan. View it yourself and see what an truly human being Elvis was.

This is so sad, unless you walked in his shoes, no one could ever know the inner pain he endured. He is a legend and always will be, I could never judge him in a negative manner.

ELVIS IN CONCERT:According to Roy Carr and Mick Farren in Elvis: The Illustrated Record, CBS officials considered postponing this broadcast of the special in hopes of obtaining better performance footage of Presley, but his death in August 1977 rendered this moot. Its broadcast received mixed reaction; Carr and Farren condemned it as a "travesty", adding, "Had it been shown during his lifetime, it would have caused more irrevocable damage to what was left of his career. Very sad.

Elvis, allegedly spent at least $1 million annually during his latter years on drugs and doctors' fees or inducements. Although Dr. Nichopoulos was exonerated with regard to Presley's death, "In the first eight months of 1977 alone, he had [prescribed] more than 10,000 doses of sedatives, amphetamines, and narcotics: all in Elvis' name.

He died of a heart attack, which was caused by his drug intake.
