This video is for all DC5 and Mike Smith fans. "Free As A Bird" is a song "Charlie" Smith (Mike's wife) had played at Mike's funeral as white doves were released. It was written by Mike Smith (DC5) and Michael D'Abo(Manfred Mann) and is from their self titled album from 1976. "Free As A Bird" was also released as a single in 1976. If you've never heard it..it is a BEAUTIFUL song. I hope all who view this video and hear this song will enjoy the meaningful and powerful lyrics.

I had the vinyl in 76 and now have the CD. I saw Mike Smith's Rock Engine twice in 2003..he was a nice guy as well as my favorite lead singer!

Saw these two guys once and once only on tv and they were absolutely sensational. Recently met someone who used to care for poor Mike Smith during his last years.

Not me yet...I recently discovered this video and I just love it! This is one of the coolest songs I've ever heard! The CD is super-hard to find. The LP is pretty easy to get, but I don't have a turntable. Offshute, I just love this video! A lovely tribute!
