I know this. The whole grafunkle started because I said both serve their country. They all preform detrimental tasks to society. Whether it is a soldier getting killed in Iraq or Afghanistan, or a Police Officer getting shot or killed by a scumbag. I do respect you, but I respect you the same as I respect MY brothers and sisters, police officers, or your fellow soldiers. You're all heroes, you all risk your lives, for this country.

Well I enlisted in 2000 so as per that date of when I took my oath it's not the same and the simple fact that unless a cop is either a reservist or Guardsman or woman he's not the same. Unlike a lot of my brothers I hold the reserves and guard in high esteem more so the guard. But kid cops and servicemen are not the same. And it maybe your country kid but me and many others are paying price to keep it yours and no I don't mean by Iraq.

And I'm not a cop, but in 2 years- granted I don't die, I AM going to be a Conservation Officer for the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries(that's a 32 Week Long Academy). I may be off on how long it is. If, by fate, I never become a Conservation Officer, I will become a Deputy Sheriff with the Pulaski County Sheriff's Officer.

If you read a police oath; in fine print, it states: "I swear to defend/uphold(North Carolina per 2006 states "defend the constitution")the Constitution of the United States of America. And bullshit it doesn't make a difference to me. This is my country too bro, age doesn't make a difference one ounce.

Kid you'll find that many people will think you're a shit for brains kid for even trying to find any logic in that statement. Cops take an oath to up hold the law. I took an oath to defend the constitution and America from foreign aggression (nutshell) they are two totally different things. But you are neither a cop nor are you a serviceman so it makes no difference for you. Yes cops die for this country but not the same way that me or my brothers in arms would.

Havn't I said that being a cop isn't more dangerous? But what I have said, multiple times alone. They take a oath for this country and they still die for this country- same as you.

I've had IEDs go off on convoys that I've been in in the middle of the night.

Kid cops don't deal with IEDs,suicide bombers,snipers,and whole cities that want to kill you. I lived on some of the roughest streets in Baltimore for most of my life before I joined the Army and nothing there can compare to what it is like in Iraq and Afghanistan alone.
