All that I am saying is that race is not the way to vote, and that we should strive to live in a colorblind society. A politician's stances on issues should always come before his race, sex, or background.

Listen, I wasn't trying to bring race into the issue at all, I am sorry if I offended anybody. I certainly agree with you that blacks in this country have gone a long way, and they have the right to celebrate. The point is that in this election, It makes me angry to see people (Blacks or whites or whoever) making race their first priority in choosing their presidential candidate. I have observed people voting for Obama bc he is Black, and those voting for McCain also bc Obama is black.

Can you blame black people for celebrating? Slavery to the presidency is a transition worthy of celebration if you ask me. Aside from that, us Democrats are VERY happy that the Republican's time is over, and that it's our turn for a while. You really don't know how it feels when something like that happens. When the Democrats FINALLY get our shot. Doesn't matter if he's black, white, asian, hispanic, whatever, he's a Democrat and we're very pleased.
