The population is booming and Mike Hanauer of Zero Population Growth considers that the world's leading environmental problem. Population growth is already straining the world's environmental and energy resources. If current trends continue, the population of the U.S. could reach a half-billion in the next century and world population could triple to 14 billion. Hanauer speaks of what needs to be done to stem the population explosion.

Eh, what I think about the overpopulation does definetely not come from the media. I know they're liars. My hate against the overpopulation comes first of all from me and maybe from Konrad Lorenz as well. You're pro Love and Peace, aren't you? There will be a war anyway because of food and water. We have to thank the overpopulation for this. So the overpopulation must be stopped with birth control (also to get real peace).

People who claim that the Earth is over populated usually provide an "environmentalist" cover for governments around the world to do all sorts of things..e.g: restricting immigration, ignoring disease prevention and continuing to neglect investment into renewable and recyclable industries in favour of digging up coal. What's even more disgusting is that these people see that the solution is not to clean up polluting industries, but to keep poor people in poverty so that they don't use up energy

omg what's with the heart beat. I think they should go walk 10 miles from his home or get out of a city. Most of the world is unpopulated and unpolluted. The sun gives enough energy to support the popultion a thousand times over. Imo over population really isn't a problem.

Asia accounts for over 60% of the world population with almost 3800 million people. The People's Republic of China and India alone comprise 20% and 17% respectively. Africa follows with 840 million people, 12% of the world population. Europe's 710 million people make up 11% of the world's population. North America is home to 514 million (8%), South America to 371 million (5.3%), and Australia 21 million.
