bryan: Let your "black guy" friend's bmw run out of gas in the wrong neighborhood, try to ask "officer friendly" for help & see what happens. They'd care less about his "privilege."
References to "white privilege" don't necessarily refer to your life experiences specificially, college boy. But you get to enjoy its fruits. So much so, that you don't even recognize it, b/c you don't have to think about it.
You're operating from "envy" rather than critical thinking, & can't see past it. Sad.

You may BE a "lit" major; try "humanities." If you're not specifically offended (e.g. didn't take the time to reflect & figure it out), then where the heck do you get off calling someone a racist that you don't even know?
I know the man; have watched the ministry grow over decades; have heard blacks/whites, Jews/gentiles, wealthy/poor, religious/ atheists honor him for his ministry & compassion. You're obviously stuck on st-- "racist." Fine. Stay there. I'm shaking the dust off, & moving on.

Jesus told them he didn't come just to help the Pharasis, they didn't need it but those he did help were the ones that needed it the most. In short, God sent someone to save everyone but God also gave Jesus a specific mission to help the poor. You don't get that because why? His whole sermon was about God giving gifts to the world. You and those like you because of this childish belief that you are the center of the universe, made this all about you and it wasn't. Understand?

Again you are still missing the point. That sermon wasn't about hillary or any of those others, that sermon was about God sending people to help you that will understand your problems. He wasn't criticizing hillary. He was showing that Barack was being hated on like Jesus by both sides and still will triumph because God will send you someone that will understand your problems. Again the example from the bible. The Pharasis were upset with Jesus because he associated with the poor. continued

I know that as a white person, you have rights blacks don't enjoy. I could give you a laundry list but you wouldn't understand. The bottom line is that this isn't about money or cars or ivy league education, this is about human rights. This is the part of being priviledged you don't get.

Tell me something does this black guy get stopped by the police regularly because as a black guy it's presumed he stole the car? Does this black guy who's parents are professors have to work harder to justify their titled because it's presumed that they are less qualified then the white professors? You're right I know nothing about your life. However, here is what I do know. continued

Wow...it amazes me how people only see what they wanna see. If I came to your house, kidnapped u, then made you and your kids do as i felt, and down the road I got shot or someone tortured me you'd say that 'nigga' got what he deserved. It's funny how we as humans can find ways to justify ourselves in everything we do.

"The seeds you so so shall you reap."
Um the bible doesn't say going to war is wrong. The bible also says defend the innocent. Saying america soldiers dieing is reap what we soe, is fucked up. That sir IS NOT in the bible.

what the hell is my error?
yes i know what he meant and i understand. do you? I'm a lit major so i interpret words pretty good. Nothing specifically offends me. I can hear a KKK speech and know its racist without it offending me. Can you? I'm NOT offended. The man is racist, i'm dealing with Truth here, not emotion. The mans words are wrong.
bryankelly (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Thats fine, thats fine. I dont understand how you feel, and i never could, whatever. The topic is saying hillary felt she should have gotten that position because shes white. Thats not a private emotion you're feeling. Thats casting judgment on someone else, purely by the collor of their skin. If your emotions are so strong that you feel your justified to interpret other peoples emotions, your flat out wrong. Compose yourself and realize your experiences don't give you the right to judge others. |
