This is the new Martin OMCRE model which features "on command" string action height adjustments by the player -- a patented system invented by Jeff Babicz. This cool guitar features vintage appointments with modern performance flexibility -for the musician. Added to this package is the familiar superlative Martin quality standard wrapped around solid Indian Rosewood back & sides with a Carpathian spruce soundboard. but what about the truss rod? isnt tht gonna affect negatively on the string action nd neck strain? if the truss rod is already adjusted, then wouldnt the truss rod need to be adjusted to accomodate the neck tension too? otherwise you would get a big bow curve in the guitar's neck! and thts not good. any thoughts on this issue?

its just a truss rod isnt it?

I just ordered one, except it's an actual Babicz. I'll report back on the tone. Call Martin greedy, but I've never seen a brand w/as many warped necks as Martins

What a great idea. I am a big fan of low action, and this idea seems to be what I am looking for.

BALLCORNER, I agree with you completely! Anything which interferes with a solid contact between the neck and body effects the tone negatively. So does the so-called "Bridge Doctor," a soundpost-like prop between the bridge and the endblock....yet they sell them. So many people - including Martin have gotten so greedy they'll sell almost anything to make a buck, quality be damned.
moodyhamoudi (March 27, 2008 at 9:41 am)
thats really low action

lol... Bad? if you don't like bright sounding guitars then sure, but i've even got Brass tone pins for a brighter sound, so that's how i like it :D
