wow,, i knew that google was recording the calls when i called goog 411 but i could never guess why,, and why they would be doing it for free,, wow,, im a computer technician,, so i know about about technology,, not every single aspect but i know alot,, and eveyrhing you said made sense. EXCEPT that cell phone carriers have the power to hear audio from a phone that is turned off??!? NO. thats not true, but i do believe what u said about them being able to tap into your phones mic whilein standby

Lol. Why is it that people like monster9429 feel the need to comment? I mean honestly, the point of youtube is a.) to provide 9.59 seconds of stupidty to distract average people from their boring lives or b.) let anyone post a video they feel the world might be able to benefit from. By the way, this video falls under that category. I appreciate the information and if I felt that I had wasted my time by viewing it I would hit the fucking exit button. It's a lot easier than posting a comment :)

good points, but a little paranoid. HOwever, if Google really is doing this, I believe they can be sued for an infringement upon privacy. They don't have any disclaimer saying that they collect anonymous user voice data. Anyways, couldn't they just go on Youtube and get millions of samples of voices if they wanted voice samples? Or on movies or TV? sure,, some, but certainly not all, may have ambient noise.
