Rousseau was also a philosopher, Ben and Jacob are Biblical characters.

Most of the characters on the show have ties to philosophers and other intellectual people and characters. Desmond is named after David Hume, Charlotte is named after CS Lewis, Jack is Jack from Lord of the Flies, etc.

John Locke was a actually a philosopher...if none of you already knew that. that's who john locke's character is named after i suspect, i mean john locke's character is very philosophical.

Cool thanks. I just went and grabbed it. The piece used in this video is the end of the song, "Death is the Road to Awe". The song is actually a bit over eight minutes.
And yes, it is an amazing score. But what else would be expected from Clint Mansell.

Ok, JJ, you've won me back somewhat. But really, you almost totally blew it with Cloverfield. What in _______ was that? A major disappointment is what it was to me. I'm looking forward to season 5 and the new Star Trek movie helmed by JJ Abrams.

She had to take Aaron as her baby so that the people on the outside would not question the Oceanic 6 on the reason why Claire survived long enough to deliver the baby but hadnt survived long enough to get rescued. We will know why in season 5.. :D

I believe it's Clint Mansell's score from The Fountain. Probably one of the best scores ever produced for a film, IMO.
