Doesn't appear to; you can only switch to them. If you have the right system tray plugin you can drop back to the standard WM home screen and end tasks using the drop-down in the top right corner. Other than that, no problems! I've got an O2 XDA Mini S (HTC Wizard) running WM6 and Pointui runs so fast!
