The voice of God. Unexpected, undeniable and unstopable. Bravo Paul - you make me believe once again in all that is good in this world.

bassodivo, you may want to go back and read it again, part two in particular.
Emotional prosody isn't only experiencing those emotions in our lives. Emotional prosody is the ability to *communicate* those emotions through speech or song.
Paul has a rare talent for communicating emotion when he sings.
(Don't believe me? Just read some of the 59 thousand plus comments here.)

Paul Potts might not be technically perfect and he might not turn into a great tenor, but that he stepped out of a cell phone store to make an audience cry and to wipe the malicious smirk off the faces of the judges by singing a song such as Nessun Dorma is not only impressive, but a motivation for everyone to step out of their comfort zones and strive for their best. For that alone, all hats off for Paul.
BTW, the singing WAS great!

Paul has prosody you say, hmm..Prosody is the very heart and soul of opera and its singers. Paul has pain, insecurity, and regret which has led to his so called prosody. But guess what, by the time most of us come of age we have acquired through life's experience the prosody that paul potts has, then we mix in a little technical expertise and then hoila, an opera singer is made.

bassodivo, your bitterness is not winning anyone over to your viewpoint.
You might want to remove the information in your profile about your being in the chorus of the Florida Grand Opera before any of the people at the FGO find out about your irresponsible, childish behavior here.

yes, i do see what this is about. Its about all of the self-defecating personalities that find hope in seeing someone as insecure as themselves finally step out of their shell and try achieving something instead of feeling sorry for themselves. |
