Actually Tae Kwon Do is not copied from Karate, it is extremely different. Besides if it was copied then why the hell would the Olympics hold Tae Kwon Do instead of Karate. You always have to discuss history and in some way try to disparage the Koreans for making a great invention that is better then the Japanese. I'm not Korean but I find that the Japanese are always fond of Korea's inventions and try to steal their culutre !!!

koreans copy everything, and then claim that its their "invention", look wath happened when Choi Hong Hi learned KARATE. then he came up with a stupid story about mountais, 2000 years etc. bull shit to avoid tne connection of TKD with KARATE. now they do the same with other things. thtas not new. I am a Nidan Karateka and an Ikkyu Kendoka

Because the Korean changed some techniques to make difference from Kendo to avoid being claimed copy.
But the fact is, iKumdo is a copy Kendo.
Look at Kumdo uniform and bogu and shinai.
They are exact copy of Kendo.

This guy's speed and strikes are just right on. It's amazing how he can do this at his age, it beyond amazing.

Indeed. And they all have the "Kyoshi"(=medium master) title. I don't know which one he has, but he was 82 years old back then...

No, it's not an eximation, they are never done in public like that. It is a demonstration. You don't become 9th Dan just like that anyway since it sort of doesn't exist anymore. If you're actually given that grade then it means A LOT.

are they really that high? they dont like taht to me. and, no, it s not an insult
tomateradio (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
I'm not going to argue about that, but Kumdo and Kendo have similar techniques, but are not the same thing.

Kumdo is Korean pronunciation of Kendo. 剣道

It's an interim during the 50th All Japan Kendo Championship but probably this video was taken from a Korean broadcast of the event. |
